Nigeria ranks second among countries where Electroneum users are using ETN for airtime and data top-ups

Electroneum, a British blockchain start-up founded in November 2017 is making giant strides in the area of cryptocurrency adoption for real world usage with its mobile and data top-ups. Electroneum recently announced that over 165,000 mobile top-ups has been completed via its mobile application in 140+ countries.

A further breakdown of the statistics shows that Nigeria ranks second among countries where Electroneum users are using ETN cryptocurrency for airtime and data top-up with a total of 29,250 top-ups behind Brazil with 73,363 top-ups.

Paxful and OKEx Announces Strategic Partnership

Popular cryptocurrency marketplace Paxful has entered into a strategic partnership with cryptocurrency exchange OKEx. Through the partnership users of both Paxful and OKEx can purchase Bitcoin via Buy&Sell with over 167 fiat currencies including Nigerian Naira (NGN) using over 300 different payment methods.

Four African Countries Top The List Globally For Bitcoin Search Interest

According to an interactive map compiled by Blockchaincenter.net using Google Trends data reveals that search interests for Bitcoin are highest in Africa with four African countries making it to the top ten based on the rankings. Kenya occupies the number one spot while Nigeria, South Africa and Morocco occuppies the number 5,6 and 9 positions respectively.

Akon City Awards $6 Billion Building and Executing Contract To KE International

Akon City, a futuristic cryptocurrency powered city by Grammy Award winning musician Akon has awarded the contract for building and executing the city to KE International, a US based Consulting and Engineering firm. The amount for constructing the city is estimated to cost about $6 Billion. KE International has already secured $4 Billion in funding from investors for the first and second Phases of execution of Akon City, and will have Dubai based Bakri & Associates Development Consultants lead the architectural designs under guidance from the United States consulting firm.

Canadian Technology Firm Bitswift Expands To Nigeria

Bitswift, a Canadian technology solutions firm founded in 2014 has expanded its operations to Africa by setting up a branch in Nigeria, Bitswift NG.

The tech company traditionally provides technological assistance to several businesses. Through its recent expansion into Nigeria the company hopes to provide technological solutions to Nigerian businesses aimed at accelerating technological development and digitalization.

First Kudi Announces Introduction of First Kudi VISA Card

First Kudi an African Blockchain & Fintech start-up backed by Ferrum Network has announced their plans to issue First Kudi VISA card and as a result will discontinue services for its First Kudi Verve card. However, users of the First Kudi Verve card have been advised to withdraw their funds via ATM or use POS where Verve is accepted to use remaining funds on or before 23rd of June 2020. More details on the First Kudi VISA card will be published by the firm through their official social media channels in the coming days.

Bitfxt Will List BNB, CELO TATCOIN and Hive On Its Exchange

Bitfxt cryptocurrency exchange has announced it will be listing Binance Token (BNB), CELO, TATCOIN and Hive. Trading for these cryptocurrencies are expected to go live on 1st of July 2020.
