BLUZELLE: THE DECENTRALIZED DATA SERVICE SOLUTION

The needed and gradual shift on the over-reliance of centralized systems of finance, economics, internet, file, and data storage and management is being made efficient through blockchain and its technologies. This generation is gradually adopting and exploiting the fantastic features and the potentials that blockchain systems carry, especially towards ensuring a decentralized system in different aspects of our daily lives. Decentralization is merely eliminating all elements of a central unit of control, in layman terms- having no central authority to control or make decisions that might affect the whole system.

Although it is no rocket science to say that the centralized internet currently engrosses us as most of us use social media applications and web platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. or that we use operating systems such as Windows, Linux, etc. or even the fact that our file storage and data storage and management are being handled by the likes of amazon services, oracle, google and cloud services, etc. However, the decentralized internet is steadily catching up with its counterpart through the emergence of messaging platforms such as Status, Ethereum as a blockchain technology which protocols carry high potentials of being an operating system itself which can be used to build other useful applications or through Filecoin which is a platform for a decentralized file storage system. Andrew now, it is so relieving to know that there is a decentralized platform that will serve all other decentralized applications and fulfill the need data storage and management, and it is called Bluzelle; thus, completing the decentralized internet for human consumption.

Gone are the days when a single server housing data can effectively meet up the safety demand for storing the voluminous amount of data and retrieving data stored whenever it is required. A single server is keeping a large amount of data is bound to fail, and when it fails, it is either the data are lost or partially retrieved. The centralized system for data storage and management in this present era is unreliable, and to solve this breach in the centralized data storage comes the centralized cloud database system, where data is stored on the cloud and retrieved at anywhere and anytime. It has been so effective in the safety of data since its emergence.

In the cryptocurrency world, one prominent example at its forefront is Blockchain, which has helped millions of wallet users have access to the crypto-ecosystem. With such a massive number of users shows a great deal of how their data is essential for safety.

Therefore, the need for a decentralized approach to data storage and management is highly crucial, especially with the exposure and emergence of new cryptocurrencies.
With the drift to a decentralized internet comes Bluzelle, Bluzelle is a decentralized, on-demand data service that provides data storage and management for Blockchain like Ethereum with a platform that launches decentralized applications (dApps), was not designed for data storage and control because of its time and space demands. Bluzelle is prone to solve the challenges in performance, reliability, and scalability facing the centralization of data storage and management because dApps developers use the centralized database system for data storage. In order to provide Bluzelle services for dApps developers, it implements the swarming technology because of its speed, therefore, involves a large group of nodes (computers) working together to store and manage data.

Although most people think that dApps are decentralized, the fact has been that a large percentage of its composition has been centralized. Storing all dApp data on Blockchain is expensive and would choke the network. That makes most dApps only store their asset ownership on Blockchain while the rest data are stored off-chain, where the developer uses the centralized cloud service providers like AWS for this.

Leveraging on these shortcomings, Bluzelle invites validators on its network to provide storage space in exchange for the token as payment. Therefore, making it easier and convenient for any developer to rent the storage space provided by Bluzelle for their dApp. The invited validators consist of forming a structure that makes any piece of data stored to be replicated in a sub-network of 13 or more validators nodes. So, if any node goes offline due to any reason whatsoever, the data is still available in one of the other nodes. The nodes are synced together in consensus, ensuring that any changes can only be made to the stored data only if the majority of two-thirds of the nodes agree, making the data stored on Bluzelle tamper-proof and censorship-resistant.
The unique features of Bluzelle cannot be overstated as it sees to correct the deficiencies of the past and present database characteristics as well as improving on the existing positive sides. Bluzelle will see to the fact that there will never be a source of failure as data is being stored and managed, unlike the past and present (or most common) single system of database. Also, it scales efficiently compared to the cloud and available system database, which is very expensive.

Another advantage of bluzelle being a decentralized database is the highest form of privacy offered compared to the cloud database and the single system of a database that doesn’t provide any way of privacy. Cloud databases can be susceptible to hacking; meanwhile, the central authority with or without one’s permission can access one’s data stored on the cloud, which can further be exploited for financial or other types of incentives.

Bluzelle’s decentralized database has no performance limitations. It is highly immutable, and the reality is that the decentralized internet in no time will be the new norm as the potentials it carries in terms of privacy, security, scalability, and speed cannot be overlooked thus, there will be a need for efficient data storage and data management system for decentralized applications, thankfully Bluzelle exists to fill that hole outstandingly.
